How to make Excel Cells Password Protected

In working scenario, sometimes we need to make password protected file. In this article I am going to discuss how we can make excel file as password protected. Article categorized into two parts.
1. Protection of Complete file
2. Protection of some selected cells

Protection of Complete File
This is very easy task to make complete excel sheet as password protected. For this
Select your sheet (all column and rows of sheet)
After selection of complete sheet, click on Format Tab (You can also click right hand side) . When you click on Format Tab a window will be appear, now that window select protect sheet.
A Pop-window will appear, now this is time to set your password for unprotect the sheet. Uncheck the both Select locked cell and select unlocked cell. Just provide your desired password and press Ok.
Re-enter the password again and press OK. Now your sheet is password protected.

Protection of some selected cells
Now let’s see how to protect some cells instead of whole sheet. As example in given sheet, I want to lock or protect row number 8 and 9. For this
Now select the complete sheet as done previously. After selecting complete sheet click on Format Tab, then list of command will display. now select format cell as shown in figure
After clicking on Format Cell, a pop window will appear containing two fields 1. Locked and 2. Hidden. Clear the locked checkbox. Uncheck the Locked box and press the OK.
 Now select the cells, which you want to protect, After selecting the cells , Click on format cell, a pop up window will appear, now under the protection tab, check the locked option and press OK.
Now select complete sheet and Go again at Format Tab. Select Protect sheet

Now repeat the previous process for setting up password. After setting the password. You are ok and now your desired cell is protected. Your comment is precious.
